COUNSELORS :: JON FILITTI

Jon Filitti is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Iowa.
He earned his Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Clarke College and went on to earn his Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from Loras College.
Jon began his counseling career in 1997 at the Gannon Center in Dubuque, Iowa where he was responsible for co-facilitating the Drop-in Program which assisted clients of the Gannon Center a place to receive services and support after hours business hours. Jon also began working with youth during 1997 at Four Oaks as a Youth Care Worker.
In 1998 he began employment at Alternative Services as a Family Centered Therapist, providing therapeutic treatment to youth and their families who were currently being assisted by the Department of Human Services and the court system.
From 1999 to 2006 Jon worked at Hillcrest Family Services where he juggled many positions. He worked as a Family Centered Therapist, the Family Support Coordinator for the Dubuque Community School District, and Outpatient Therapist. He was also a Resource Mapping Coordinator for Dubuque County mental health and designed Kidsresources.org, a website dedicated to assisting community members in locating mental health services from its vast database.
In August, 2006 Jon and business partner Yvette Saeugling created and opened Crossroads Counseling Center. Crossroads was established with the dream of gathering the best counselors in the area in one agency to serve the local community's mental health needs. Crossroads is based on the idea that counselors be encouraged to utilize their creativity, training, personal goals and interests to establish unique therapeutic methods within the scope of their practice.
Jon is also the creator/author of the Out of This World Comic Book and Activity Series. This four book series assists mental health professionals in teaching children a variety of social skills including Anger Management, Coping with Bullying, Concentration and Self Motivation.
